Teenage boy is under arrest after police say he took a loaded handgun to Valley High School. Staff received word that a student may bring a gun to school. Police and staff located the suspect near the cafeteria, but he ran away. A school resource officer followed him and Metro Police took him into custody. Police said the teen had a .22 caliber Derringer. Jefferson County Public Schools representative Lauren Roberts said the boy is charged with unlawful possession on school property. He also faces a long-term suspension. No injuries were reported.
