Notorious gangster Pappu Ganjeri, 25, was shot dead at Shivaji Nagar in Chandpur Bela locality under the Jakkanpur police station on Saturday
evening.Police said criminals opened fire at Ganjeri when he was loitering near a pond close to his residence at Shivaji Nagar. Before the locals could react, the assailants escaped. Ganjeri was taken to PMCH where he succumbed to his injuries.
Patna DIG Amit Kumar said Ganjeri was involved in over 20 cases of murder, extortion, loot, dacoity and Arms Act lodged in different police stations of Patna.
Police said Ganjeri had differences with his old friends, and they might have killed him. Sources said there was no Section left in the Indian Penal Code under which he was not booked. "His killing has brought relief to people and police," said a police officer.
