More than 1,000 people were evacuated as the blaze raged in a forested area between the city of Algeciras and the popular windsurfing resort of Tarifa. Andalusian regional Premier Manuel Chaves said the fire, which began on Wednesday, was probably started intentionally and stressed that authorities will "do all they can to find those responsible".Firefighters, helped by helicopters and water-dumping planes, said they expected to bring the fire under control overnight.
